Workers gather unitedly in support of 4T

The evident collaboration and solidarity between Mexico’s labor force and the Fourth Transformation were clearly demonstrated during the XV Ordinary National Congress of CATEM. Claudia Sheinbaum, alongside Governor Mara Lezama Espinos and other members of Morena, received support from the union.

In her capacity as the national coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, Sheinbaum emphasized the interdependence of Mexico’s workers’ well-being, entrepreneurs, and the overall prosperity of the nation. She expressed contentment in officially establishing a significant alliance with the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM).

During her address, Sheinbaum underscored the current positive state of the nation and stressed the importance of avoiding regression to previous practices. Highlighting the ongoing efforts to bolster labor rights in the country, she reiterated the shared objective of preventing a return to a past characterized by corruption and privileges.

Following the inauguration of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Claudia Sheinbaum outlined the aim of ensuring workers’ access to a dignified life through collaboration with entrepreneurs. She referred to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s prioritization of the principle of “for the good of all, first the poor,” emphasizing that Mexico’s advancement relies on this commitment.

Sheinbaum pledged to persist in advocating for workers’ salaries and benefits, reaffirming the dedication to collaborate for the well-being of both workers and the nation. Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and Secretary General of CATEM, highlighted achievements resulting from the partnership between representatives of the working class and the 4T government. These achievements encompass an augmented minimum wage, additional vacation days, and the abolishment of subcontracting, among others.
