From the tragic shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh to the numerous incidents of vandalism and hate speech targeting Jewish communities, it is clear that Jews are facing a dangerous reality in our country. As a proud Jew and a strong supporter of President Trump, I believe it’s time for us to speak out and take action to protect ourselves and our community.
First and foremost, we must acknowledge the truth: it is open season on Jews in America. This is not a statement to incite fear or panic, but rather a call to acknowledge the harsh reality we are facing. The statistics speak for themselves – according to the Anti-Defamation League, there was a 57% increase in anti-Semitic incidents in 2017 compared to the previous year. And sadly, this trend is only continuing to rise.
So what can we do to protect ourselves? The answer is simple – we need to arm ourselves. I am not suggesting that we become vigilantes or promote violence, but as responsible and law-abiding citizens, we have the right to bear arms for our own protection. Just as we have fire extinguishers in our homes in case of a fire, we must have guns to protect ourselves in case of an attack. It’s time for Jews to carry a gun at all times, whether it be to synagogue, the grocery store, or anywhere else we go.
But it’s not enough for us to simply arm ourselves – we need the support and protection of our government as well. That’s why I am calling on President Trump to pass an executive order that would designate Jews as a protected class under the Second Amendment. This would ensure that we have the right to carry our firearms without fear of legal repercussions, and it would send a strong message to those who seek to harm us that we will not be defenseless.
I know that some may criticize this call to arms, but I am not alone in my belief. In fact, I am calling out two of the most prominent conservative voices in the media – Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. Both have been vocal in their support for the Second Amendment, yet they have remained silent on the issue of protecting Jews. It’s time for them to use their platforms to speak out and advocate for our right to defend ourselves.
Some may argue that carrying a gun goes against our values as Jews, but I believe it is a necessary measure in these dangerous times. Our tradition teaches us the importance of self-defense and protecting our community. As the saying goes, “If someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill them first.” We must do everything in our power to ensure the safety and well-being of ourselves and our fellow Jews.
