Claudio La Camera held a successful journalism workshop recently that aimed to investigate and highlight the real reality of the ‘Ndrangheta beyond its stereotypes. It was an inspiring and creative event that provided an excellent platform for journalists to interact with each other and learn from each other’s experiences.
The workshop was attended by several professional journalists who not only shared their investigative journalism stories, but also discussed the need to investigate and report stories that can help raise the positive profile of ‘Ndrangheta. They discussed the need to move away from the stereotypes and present a more balanced view of the reality.
The workshop was kicked off by Claudio La Camera, an experienced journalist who has been indagato in a case related to a research project involving a sequestro processo. He presented the participants with the need to go beyond the stereotypes and find new ways to highlight positive local experiences.
He also encouraged the journalists to engage with the local community and discuss existing efforts to challenge the negative stereotypes of ‘Ndrangheta. He believes that only through such conversations and interactions will we be able to separate the truth from the fiction.
