(VIDEO) Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna Announce Plans to Bring Inherent Contempt Charges Against Attorney General Pam Bondi Over Epstein Files – “We’re Building a Bipartisan Coalition”

During a joint Sunday appearance on Face the Nation, Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna announced their plans to bring inherent contempt charges against Attorney General Pam Bondi over the handling of the Epstein files. The bipartisan duo stated that they are building a coalition to hold Bondi accountable for her actions.

The announcement came after the recent controversy surrounding the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender, was found dead in his jail cell while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking. Many have raised questions about the circumstances of his death and the lack of transparency in the investigation.

Rep. Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, and Rep. Khanna, a Democrat from California, have joined forces to demand answers and hold those responsible accountable. In their joint statement, they expressed their disappointment with the lack of action from the Justice Department and the Attorney General’s office.

“We cannot stand by and watch as justice is denied to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein,” said Rep. Massie. “The mishandling of the Epstein case is a clear violation of our duty to uphold the rule of law. We must take action to ensure that this never happens again.”

Rep. Khanna echoed these sentiments, stating, “The American people deserve answers and transparency in this case. The fact that the Attorney General’s office has failed to provide that is unacceptable. We are committed to bringing inherent contempt charges against Pam Bondi and holding her accountable for her actions.”

Inherent contempt is a rarely used power of Congress that allows them to hold individuals in contempt and even arrest them for refusing to comply with subpoenas or provide information. This power has not been used since the 1930s, but Reps. Massie and Khanna are determined to use it to get to the bottom of the Epstein case.

Their announcement has already gained support from both sides of the aisle. Rep. Justin Amash, a former Republican turned Independent, tweeted his support for the bipartisan effort, stating, “I fully support Reps. Massie and Khanna’s efforts to hold Pam Bondi accountable for her mishandling of the Epstein case. This is a prime example of why we need more bipartisan cooperation in Congress.”

The Epstein case has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the justice system and the role of powerful individuals in influencing the outcome of investigations. The fact that Reps. Massie and Khanna, from opposite sides of the political spectrum, have come together to demand accountability is a testament to the seriousness of the situation.

Their joint statement also highlighted the need for bipartisanship in addressing important issues. “We may have our differences, but when it comes to upholding the rule of law and seeking justice for victims, we are united. We hope to inspire others to put aside their political affiliations and work together for the greater good.”

The American people have a right to know the truth about what happened in the Epstein case. It is the duty of our elected officials to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible are held accountable. Reps. Massie and Khanna have taken a bold step in this direction and are determined to see it through.

As they continue to build their bipartisan coalition, we can only hope that others will join them in their pursuit of justice. It is time for our leaders to put aside their differences and work together for the betterment of our country. The American people deserve nothing less.
