San Jose Chamber of Commerce kicking off new year with sports-themed event

The Bay Area sports scene is buzzing with excitement as top executives from some of the region’s most beloved teams will come together for a panel discussion at the upcoming Leaders and Legacy event. On January 30, executives from the San Francisco 49ers, San Jose Sharks, San Jose Earthquakes, and Bay FC will take the stage to share their insights and experiences with attendees.

The event, which is being hosted by the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame, will bring together leaders from various sports organizations to discuss the impact of sports on the community and the legacy they hope to leave behind. With a star-studded lineup of panelists, this promises to be an event that sports fans won’t want to miss.

The San Francisco 49ers, a powerhouse in the NFL, will be represented by their Chief Operating Officer, Al Guido. Guido, who has been with the team since 2014, has played a crucial role in the development of the 49ers’ new state-of-the-art stadium, Levi’s Stadium. His expertise in business operations and marketing has helped the team become one of the most successful and profitable franchises in the league.

Joining Guido on the panel will be Jonathan Becher, President of the San Jose Sharks. Becher, who joined the Sharks in 2019, brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles with the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and software giant SAP. Under his leadership, the Sharks have continued to thrive on and off the ice, solidifying their position as a top team in the NHL.

Representing the San Jose Earthquakes, the Major League Soccer team, will be President Tom Fox. Fox, who joined the Earthquakes in 2019, has a strong background in sports marketing and management, having previously worked with renowned organizations such as Arsenal FC and the NBA. He has already made a significant impact on the Earthquakes, spearheading initiatives to engage with the local community and increase the team’s fan base.

Last but certainly not least, Bay FC’s CEO, Angela Hucles, will also be part of the panel. Hucles, a former professional soccer player and two-time Olympic gold medalist, has been instrumental in the growth of Bay FC, a professional women’s soccer team based in San Francisco. Her passion for the sport and dedication to empowering women in sports have made her a respected figure in the industry.

The panel discussion will cover a wide range of topics, including the challenges and opportunities faced by sports organizations, the role of sports in promoting social change, and the legacy that these executives hope to leave behind. Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights and inspiration from these leaders who have achieved great success in their respective fields.

In addition to the panel discussion, the event will also feature a silent auction, with proceeds going towards the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame’s scholarship program. This program provides financial assistance to student-athletes in the Bay Area, helping them pursue their dreams of playing sports at the collegiate level.

The Leaders and Legacy event is a testament to the impact that sports can have on a community. It brings together individuals who have dedicated their careers to the world of sports and showcases the positive influence they have on society. It is a celebration of the past, present, and future of Bay Area sports and a reminder of the important role that sports play in shaping our lives.
