For this month’s Bay Area brewery tour, I decided to venture back to San Francisco on a beautiful spring day. With the sun shining and a cool breeze in the air, it was the perfect day to explore some of the city’s best breweries. I had been eagerly waiting to visit three specific breweries that had caught my attention: Enterprise Brewing in SOMA, Barrel Head Brewhouse in NOPA, and San Francisco Brewing in Ghirardelli Square.
My first stop was Enterprise Brewing, located in the vibrant neighborhood of SOMA. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The industrial-chic decor, with exposed brick walls and wooden accents, gave the brewery a unique and modern feel. The friendly staff welcomed me and I immediately felt at home.
The brewery offers a wide variety of beers, from classic IPAs to unique and experimental brews. I decided to try their flagship IPA, which did not disappoint. It was perfectly balanced with a strong hoppy flavor and a smooth finish. I also couldn’t resist trying their seasonal stout, which had a rich and creamy texture with hints of chocolate and coffee. As I sipped on my beers, I couldn’t help but admire the passion and dedication that goes into each and every brew at Enterprise Brewing.
Next on my list was Barrel Head Brewhouse, located in the lively neighborhood of NOPA. As I entered the brewery, I was immediately struck by the cozy and intimate atmosphere. The walls were adorned with vintage beer signs and the wooden tables and chairs gave the place a rustic charm. I was excited to try their famous barrel-aged beers, which are aged in oak barrels to give them a unique and complex flavor.
I started off with their Belgian-style tripel, which had a fruity and spicy aroma with a smooth and crisp finish. Next, I tried their barrel-aged stout, which had a rich and bold flavor with hints of vanilla and oak. The beers at Barrel Head Brewhouse were truly one-of-a-kind and I could tell that they put a lot of love and care into each batch. I also couldn’t resist trying their delicious food menu, which perfectly complemented the beers.
My final stop was San Francisco Brewing, located in the iconic Ghirardelli Square. As I walked into the brewery, I was immediately drawn to the stunning views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. The spacious outdoor patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a cold beer on a sunny day. The brewery has a laid-back and relaxed vibe, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some delicious brews.
I started off with their California Common, a light and refreshing beer with a crisp and clean finish. Next, I tried their West Coast IPA, which had a bold and hoppy flavor with a citrusy twist. I also couldn’t resist trying their seasonal beer, a refreshing wheat ale with hints of orange and coriander. The beers at San Francisco Brewing were top-notch and I could see why it’s a popular spot among locals and tourists alike.
As I finished my brewery tour, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the amazing experience I had. Each brewery had its own unique charm and offered a wide variety of delicious beers. The passion and dedication of the brewers was evident in every sip and I couldn’t wait to come back and try more of their creations.
If you’re a beer lover like me, I highly recommend checking out Enterprise Brewing, Barrel Head Brewhouse, and San Francisco Brewing on your next visit to the Bay Area. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Cheers to great beer and great experiences!
