In 1998, I began my journey as an elementary teacher under the tutelage of my aunt and revered educator, Marva N. Collins. My mother was also a teacher, so I had a deep appreciation for the power of education and the impact it can have on a person’s life. Marva was an incredible mentor who taught me the importance of having high expectations for my students and the importance of creating an environment where every student can learn and grow.
Marva was a pioneer in the field of education and was a leader in the movement to provide quality education to all students, regardless of their background or socio-economic status. She was a firm believer in the power of education and was passionate about helping students reach their full potential.
